How to use Work4Fun

Work4Fun setup follows a simple step-by-step process. Start by enabling the required permissions, then configure your apps, your time rules, and your security settings.

  1. Installation
    1. Download the app from the App Store.
    2. Enable Screen Time permissions so Work4Fun can monitor and manage your selected apps and categories.
  2. Work4Fun app configuration
    1. Open App Selection.
    2. Preselect the apps, iOS app categories, and/or web domains you want Work4Fun to manage.
    3. To categorize apps, tap Modify.
    4. Assign each selected app to one of the four Work4Fun categories by tapping the corresponding icon:
      • Work — productive or educational apps. 'Work' apps credit 'Fun' time.
      • Fun — entertainment and leisure apps. 'Work' apps consume 'Fun' time.
      • Monitored — apps you want to track without restricting. 'Monitored' apps neither credit nor consume 'Fun' time.
      • Restricted — apps you want to limit or block. 'Restricted' apps neither credit nor consume 'Fun' time.
    5. Review your classification and adjust it whenever needed.
  3. Time settings
    1. Define usage durations for apps, iOS app categories, or web domains.
    2. Set time windows to decide when apps are allowed during the day or week.
    3. Adjust the Work → Fun Credit Rate to define how Work time earns Fun time.
    4. Manually add or remove time credit whenever needed.
  4. Secure the app
    1. Set a PIN code to protect sensitive settings.
    2. Lock the app settings if you want changes to require the PIN.

Using Work4Fun

Once Work4Fun is configured, you can use its main sections to monitor, control, and adjust your digital rules.

  1. Work4Fun Stats
    1. View your statistics by day, week, or month.
    2. Observe your habits: app usage, Work/Fun balance, and time evolution.
  2. Work4Fun Control
    1. Enable or disable control depending on your needs.
    2. Check in real time whether apps are currently allowed or blocked.
    3. Apply your rules automatically through credits, daily caps, and time windows.
  3. Parameters
    1. Manage general settings such as appearance and language.
    2. Check Screen Time status and security settings.
    3. Access additional options such as Demo Mode and other non-core preferences.
